custom barn designs: Timber ceiling beams are a great way to introduce timber into a home. You do not need a cathedral ceiling to enjoy timber framing, nor do you need a full timber frame. For example, kitchen ceilings designed with timber beams create the 2nd floor (if need be) and look wonderful. Another area is the family room and living room, install some timber ceiling beams and enjoy the view.
Timber ceiling beams can be applied to conventional framing as decorative, during construction or after the fact. The wood species we usually work with is Douglas Fir, White Pine, Native Hemlock, White Oak, Red Oak, Cedar and most recently Soft Maple.
