Vermont Sacred Garden

The Path of Life Garden was inspired by the Japanese Garden, The Life of Man, located in Ireland. Utilizing symbols of many cultures, The Path of Life Garden covers 14 acres of Vermont fields, connecting 18 installations called “rooms”, each a natural or manmade sculpture that signifies a different aspect of life. Birth, Adventure, the Hill of Learning, the Tree of Wisdom, Creativity, Hope, Union, Family, Community, Solitude, Ambition, Sorrow, Forgiveness, Joy, Respite, Contemplation, Death and Rebirth are all represented within the Garden for the visitor to view and enjoy. The journey begins with the visitor entering through the Tunnel of Oblivion and ends as they exit at Rebirth. Typically, visitors spend between 30-40 minutes perusing the garden but are welcome to stay as long as they would like. We provide maps to lead the way with signposts along the winding path that leads the visitor through the Path of Life.
