Vermont River Adventure

Open to the public year round, The Path of Life Garden is a celebration of life through natural and manmade sculptures. As visitors follow a winding path throughout 14 acres of verdant green fields, they are allowed to experience 18 different “rooms” that represent various life events. “Rooms” of life depicted within the garden include Adventure, the Hill of Learning and the Tree of Wisdom. Adventure is represented by a maze of 800 hemlocks. Adventure symbolizes the period of adolescence – a period of exploration, getting lost and finding the way. The maze is “Adventure” as it offers many choices and more than one path to the other side. The Hill of Learning stands as a large mound with steps that lead to the top, each step signifying milestones and illustrating the effort it takes to reach a goal. The Tree of Wisdom is a white oak located in the middle of a circular stone wall signifying collective wisdom. The Path of Life Garden is a place where families and groups can experience fun, relaxation and renewal. Most visitors take 30-40 minutes to explore the Garden, but we encourage them to spend an unlimited amount of time enjoying the areas we have created. With maps and signposts along the way, you will be led on a journey through life through nature.

ATTRACTIONS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE:
Before or after your visit, you may want to experience nearby attractions. Within walking distance to the Garden is the opportunity to view glass blowing, watch pottery being made, as well as stop for a bite to eat and rent a kayak to float quietly down the Connecticut River. The Simon Pearce Glass Factory, Simon Pearce Pottery, The Harpoon Brewery and Still River Kayak Rentals are all available for your enjoyment. Feel free to take an entire day!
