Vermont Flower Garden

Inspired by the Life of Man Garden in Ireland, The Path of Life Garden is located in historic Windsor, Vermont. The Path of Life Garden is a public sculpture garden that tells the story of the great circle of life through the symbolic use of 18 works of art – some manmade and some natural. The various symbols take the visitor on a journey from birth to death and beyond. The Garden is located on 14 acres of winding trails that pass by the wildflowers and open spaces on the banks of the Connecticut River. Each symbol depicts a different phase of one’s life. Hope, Contemplation and Rebirth are just three of the 18 phases depicted in the Garden. Hope is represented with 3 Tori gates and Vermont prayer wheels, giving the visitor a chance to wish for well being and good fortune. Contemplation is represented by a stone Buddha that stands near the end of the path. The view from this area allows the visitor to see most of the path that they have already experienced. It is a place where the visitor can reflect on the choices they have made in life, as well attempt to solve the stone labyrinth nearby. Rebirth is represented in the garden by a cemetery fence which encloses a stand of young trees growing out of the “graves”. From this point, the visitor is allowed to exit through the Gateway of Eternity. The Path of Life Garden is a unique experience, one where the visitor will find fun, relaxation and rejuvenation.
